Christopher Cassel is a Primetime Emmy Award-winning director and writer based in New Jersey.

Over two decades in the film and TV business, he's shot documentaries and premium docudramas on five continents (still waiting for that Australia gig) and worked with quite a few people you've definitely heard of.

From 2011–2018, he was President of Castle Pictures, Inc. which delivered highly-acclaimed series and specials for National Geographic, History and American Heroes Channel among others. Since then he’s free-lanced as an EP, director, writer and sometimes all three.

Recent career highlights include an Emmy nod for a well-timed doc on Oppenheimer, and show running his first major network series, NBC’s Survival Mode, premiering in summer 2025.

Chris, a Jersey boy from birth, is a proud dad of two teens, a lucky husband to his college sweetheart, a soccer coach, an avid reader and a guitar tinkerer. He loves history, baseball, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Goodfellas and Back to the Future. And he likes to think he's got a few more years yet in that sweet spot where sage experience and youthful energy dovetail.
